A tranquil home away from home awaits in Rayong Province, Thailand’s exotic seaside destination

Located just a 2-hour drive from Bangkok, Rayong is a province with an idyllic calm on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast.Inland the region is marked with mountains, forests and fruit plantations but it’s the unassuming and relatively untouched 100 kilometre stretch of beach that makes Rayong a popular destination for Thai beach goers in the know.

While property sales in Bangkok and the popular tourist destinations of Phuket and Koh Samui remain strong, a property in Rayong provides an attractive alternative for those looking for a private retreat that’s off the beaten track. The beach area has yet to receive the same level of development that has been seen in other areas of Thailand, so property buyers have an opportunity to take advantage of early entry into the buoyant market. Although the region is a popular getaway destination for Bangkok residents, it is also a renowned producer of seafood so it’s not solely reliant on tourism.

This contemporary new development on Suanson Beach is comprised of ten individually-styled, high specification units just a few minutes walk from the beach. Each 240 square metre villa is designed around a private salt water swimming pool and includes three double bedrooms – the master with its own en-suite – three further bathrooms and a spacious living and kitchen area. Designed by Idin Architects, the villas are modern and almost minimalist in appearance featuring luxurious fixtures and fittings and high quality appliances. Each comes with its own large roof terrace, an outdoor shower,a tropical garden and a dedicated parking space. The development also has a residents’ bar, a communal pool and 24-hour security with CCTV. Although the villas are predominantly designed to be enjoyed as second homes, buyers do have the option of renting their villa through a management company who will not only maintain the property throughout the year but also manage the rental on the owner’s behalf. For owners who choose this option, a guaranteed yield of 6% will be paid for the first two years of ownership. Through leasehold, there are no restrictions on foreign ownership for this property. Investors may buy in their own name on a 90- year lease and then renew ongoing from there.

ALFA Investors is the worldwide exclusive marketing agent for this development and will be hosting events and activities over the summer months. While all villas are identical in size and layout, prices range from US$459,950 to US$499,950 depending on the size of the plot and the exact specifications. The villas, built to British standards, were developed by structural engineer Richard Spencer Hardy who comes from the UK but is currently based in Bangkok. Hardy has designed many iconic buildings such as the Eden Project in Cornwall and Bristol Airport and has also managed project for the likes of West Ham United the Athens Olympic Games. R
