Tuesday 2 December

Stockton Bar & Restaurant provided the perfect backdrop for The Reserve’s second annual Gentlemen’s Evening on a balmy December night. Over 120 members and guests were invited to experience a selection of fine luxury brands – each one designed with the discerning gentleman in mind. Some guests opted for a traditional wet shave by men’s grooming service, Gentlemen’s Tonic, while others preferred a sensory experience by fragrances Acqua di Parma and Bvlgari. Members inquisitive enough to venture into an area engulfed by mystery were rewarded by being among the first to see most technologically advanced smartphone made by French company, FANTÔME. French fineness was very much the order of the day as Parisian shoe smith, Corthay, had its artist demonstrating how each pair of shoes is lovingly hand painted to meet a client’s exacting specifications. Ladies, don’t worry the evening also included fantastic gift ideas for Christmas from brands including vintage jewellery curator, Love and Object and luxury luggage brand, Ebby Rane.  This was all washed down by delicious fine wines courtesy of Berry Bros. & Rudd and an intriguing selection of aged whiskies from The Glenlivet. The silent auction was also a big draw for guests, raising almost HK$40,000 in successful bids for charity, The Nature Conservancy. Prizes included a luxurious three-night stay at The Shanti Maurice in Mauritius, a solid gold cuff by Links of London and a striking print by celebrated contemporary artist, Marc Quinn.
